Do you text? I do! Probably a little too much! Electrolux and Kelly Ripa have committed to raise money and awareness for Ovarian Cancer Research. They recently launched a campaign that uses something I use everyday…texting! September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Electrolux and Kelly Ripa are holding a “Text-a-Thon” to help raise support for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. It’s a great cause as their goal is to find a method for early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer.
Throughout the month, you can donate $5 towards the fund by texting “KELLY” to 85944 from your mobile phone (standard text messaging rates apply) or by logging onto the site. And believe me, you’ll want to log on. When you log onto the site, you’ll be entered to win a luxury front load washer and dryer from Electrolux in Turquoise Sky (which is my favorite color of blue!). The color has significance because the teal ribbon is the symbol of ovarian cancer awareness.
You can also help in another way by sending a virtual T-shirt to a friend (I just did this the other day). For every virtual t-shirt sent, Electrolux will donate $1 to the OCRF. You can also purchase a limited edition T-shirt designed by Kelly Ripa. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the T-shirts will go to OCRF.

I would like to thank Kelly Rippa for joining in to help research Ovarian Cancer. My mother fought Ovarian Cancer for 7 years and passed away on May 2, 2009. We live on an Indian Reservation and I want to help people aware of the sign and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer and how important it is to have annual women exams.
Thank you,
Rhonda
