Share Your Story About the Special Mom In Your Life

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Toni. Congrats!

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.  ~Rajneesh

While I have many beautiful memories before my children were born, it’s hard to remember those days when all I had to worry about was myself.  Despite the sleep deprivation, a house that never seems to be clean, and very little time to myself,  I am humbled, blessed, filled with joy and honored to be called mommy by my two bright and beautiful children.  My mother was and is a tremendous example to me and I only hope I am as loving, giving, patient, and enduring as she is.

I am surrounded by women who rock motherhood.  Women who have given up executive positions in prominent companies to stay home and be with their children…women who sacrifice “the glamourous life” so they can be there for their children’s first steps, first day of school, first baseball game…women who realize that the time with their children is too short and goes by too quickly and choose them over everything else.

THe best Mothers Day ever spent with my mom was when we got together with my sister in law and we all sat their bawling like babies waiting for the calls from our husbands who were deployed in Iraq, times like that bring about extremely special bonds!

My mom was always hard working. She worked 3 jobs to support my sister, brother and I. As a single mom she never did for herself, it was always for us three. We never really went without but we didn’t have had a lot either. There was always a warm meal but I knew she wanted more for us. I hope her the best mothers day!! I love her..

I lost my mother not quite a year ago at 93 years of age. She was a loving parent, an unquestioning beliver in God and always a wonderful example of how to live a life. She was a hard working woman until her body started to fail. Even then she would take her walker outside to oversee the garden while a wonderful neighbor did the actual work. She shared the bounty with friends and neighbors.
I will always miss her and hope my children see me as a good example too.

My mom (and dad) gave up a lot for the benefit of their kids. She/they probably don’t see it as giving up though but as investing in us. She/They sent 4 kids to Christian school and paid for music lessons for us. She/They endured our many plays, concerts and games (bless them for that)! My mom continues to give of what she has in time & money to help her kids whenever she can. I’m glad she’s my mom and I’m trying to follow her example.
