Celebrate the Release of Be Out There: Cool Outdoor Ideas for Hot Summer Days!

Earlier this year, I set some personal and professional goals for myself.  After “blogging” for over 5 years, I felt like 2013 was the year I needed to change things up a bit.  Along with taking on a few new freelance writing assignments, I decided that I would travel to at least one new location (check!), attend at least one new conference (check!), and at least attempt to write an e-book (check!).

When I was approached by the National Wildlife Federation and The Motherhood to co-author an e-book to inspire families to spend time together outdoors, I couldn’t think of a project that was more perfect for me. We are extremely fortunate to live in a city that sees lots of sunshine and we have access to an abundance of clean, safe, outdoor parks and beaches.  My contribution can be seen in the chapter titled  “Cool Activities for Hot Summer Days” where I talk about how we still manage to get outside on warm, summer, 90+ degree days.

Later this week, I’ll share more about this e-book and the National Wildlife Federations’ Be Out There movement.
