Last week, my daughter, son, and I went to a Brave-themed birthday party…and met Merida at Disneyland! Every time my daughter sees a photo of the Scottish princess, she squeals “Brave!” since she can’t say Merida. We are counting down the days towards Disney/Pixar’s latest release, which tells the story of Merida, the feisty, red-haired daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to cast aside tradition to carve her own path, Merida defies her country’s longstanding customs of marriage by sabotaging the traditional archery contest between the three lords. What ensues is an onslaught of chaos throughout her kingdom. When Merida turns to an Old Witch to help change her fate, a curse is cast on the kingdom…one she’ll have to fight to undo in order to save her family and the kingdom.

Always been a huge Pixar fan, from what I gathered from the trailer, it looks like a movie about girl (don’t really get along with her parents) growing up and learn few lessons about life. Hi rockin mama! There a few things I’m excited about in this film. First & for most a new Disney princess & she’s really badass. She’s a fighter but totally different from the rest of the princesses. Happy Summer! My boys are so excited for the new movie. I’m thrilled to see them wanting to see a movie about a girl! The movie looks beautiful and we can’t wait for it to come out. We talk about it with every billboard we pass and bus placard that goes by. And hey, two hours of air conditioning in the middle of summer sounds nice too! Thanks for sharing! We live in Chicago.
