Strawberry Shortcake Celebrates 30 Berryful Years!

Posted by Caryn Bailey 1 Comment

Do you remember my story about Strawberry Shortcake? She’s timeless, adorably sweet, and doesn’t look a day over 30!  This year Strawberry Shortcake celebrates thirty berryful years and I had the honor of being one of her guests at her celebration hosted by Ciaran from Momfluential and Natalie from Hot Moms Club.

Strawberry Shortcake evokes sweetness, friendship and fun and is still popular among girls today.  I like the positive messages present in her television shows and films. You may remember that I told you about her two latest films, Berrywood Here We Come and The Glimmerberry Ball Movie, which teach girls important lessons about friendship and teamwork.  Last month, Strawberry Shortcake’s new animated television series “Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures” began airing on The Hub.  The series follows Strawberry Shortcake and her friends in the whimsical land of Berry Bitty City, a tiny world underneath the leaves of a berry patch.

Hasbro has also joined in the celebration by creating exclusive 30th Anniversary three-packs of dolls that include replicas of the original characters (Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Tart and Orange Blossom) which each emit their own fruit scent.  The collection is available on TysToyBox.com and Hasbro Workshop beginning today, November 1st.

One of the things we got to do at Strawberry’s birthday celebration was check out some of the new online games.  StrawberryShortcake.com offers a wide variety of games for preschooler based on kid’s characters like Twisted Whiskers, Hollie Hobbie, Poppies, and Strawberry Shortcake.  They’re simple enough for my 3 year old to figure out but still manage to provide a fun challenge.  The site includes ideas and activities to throw your own Strawberry Shortcake party and a parents section with fun facts and recipes.

One of the things I learned recently was that Strawberry Shortcake is giving back through a partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.  Through the partnership, they enlisted volunteers to host Lemonade Stands to help raise national awareness and support fund-raising efforts for childhood cancer research.

To keep up with the latest on Strawberry Shortcake’s adventures, visit her on Facebook.

I wish I would have held onto all of my old Strawberry Shortcake toys, they are worth a ton of money now.
