I just started watching the Signing Times DVDs to learn some basic signs and I have to say I really enjoyed the first one. I knew when we got pregnant that I wanted to sign with my baby. So many of my friends have had great success with getting their babies to communicate their wants and needs at a young age. I really like how associations are made between signs and a particular subject. The music is fun and catchy and most importantly, it seems feasible since the DVD shows babies signing. I also feel that their use of American Sign Language (as opposed to made up signs) really enhances the development of speech in young children. I can’t wait to start signing with Josh! I’ll have to post about my experiences when he’s a little older.

We love signing times. It was great for AJ when he first learned to talk and was so delayed. If you can manage it…instead of buying all the dvd’s either check them out from the library and copy them or tivo them off of the tv and save them. That has been our life-saver financially.
