From the moment we moved into our home, I’ve wanted a designated space where I can write comfortably during my most productive hours (typically 10 pm until midnight) without disrupting the rest of my family. My husband and I have been working on my office and I am so happy with how it’s turning out! We’ve modernized the design of the room, set up my work space and calendar, and I’ve been tackling the most difficult part of the project…organization!
Since I work from home, all of my office items tend to end up spread out all over. Thanks to Fellowes Bankers Box Stackable Storage, those items now have a designated place! You might remember that my biggest organization challenge involves the items I use on a daily basis to create the content you see here on the site each day. Those items include press releases, product samples, camera equipment and photography props. If I can let you in on a little secret, I was using reusable bags to house some of these items and it was a sort of organized chaos that eventually ended up spilling over onto the table I showed you in my previous post. I’ve tried plastic storage bins and cardboard boxes that resemble the ones offered by Fellowes. But it becomes a challenge to actually identify what those boxes contain if they aren’t labeled and many cardboard boxes aren’t sturdy enough to house heavy items or a large stack of papers.
Fellowes Bankers Box Stackable Storage make organization chic, effortless, and green! Available in four sizes, these stackable storage products feature stylish patterns that will coordinate with most home decor, clear windows to easily locate items, reinforced plastic handles for lifting and carrying, and sturdy construction. The boxes are made from 60 percent recycled content which makes them a smart organizational solution for the eco-minded.
Setting up the boxes was straightforward and didn’t take much time or effort. Fellowes was quite generous with the samples they provided, and since I didn’t need all of the boxes sent, I have them tucked away in my closet for future projects. If you decide that you’re done with one of the boxes, you can simply fold it up and store it flat since they don’t take up a lot of room when disassembled. The only thing I would really like to see is a designated space for labeling the boxes.
After gathering the supplies I use each day on the site, I decided to organize them as follows: press releases and other paperwork related to the site, camera equipment and props, and product samples. I used the medium sized boxes since they fit nicely under and right next to my desk. Now my work space is clear and I can focus on creating content rather than sorting through my piles to find what I’m looking for.
Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.
-A. A. Milne
I love this quote from Milne because too often, I’m not as productive as I would like to be because I’m sorting through my piles of papers and products in search of what I’m looking for. A clear, organized work space sets the tone for productivity and I already feel less stress just looking at my new work space!
How messy is your closet? Fellowes wants to see it! Through the end of April, you can visit the Bankers Box Facebook page to submit your photo and be entered to win a closet makeover with a professional organizer. Additionally, five winners will receive $500 in storage/organizational products. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Fellowes Bankers Boxes. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
