Sugar & Spice Cedar Planked Salmon with Grilled Vegetable Couscous

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

I first had Cedar Plank Salmon at a local restaurant here in Orange County that boasted a butter-free kitchen and a fresh, seasonal menu. Cooking the fish on a Cedar Plank infuses a smoked flavor into the salmon that is an absolute delight to the palate. Thanks to Cedar Bay Salmon, I prepared their Sugar and Spice Cedar Planked Salmon with an easy Grilled Vegetable Couscous. The result was a delicious, healthy meal prepared in less than 1 hour!

Cedar Bay Grilling Company

Cedar Bay Grilling Company is located in a tiny South Shore hamlet of Blandford, Nova Scotia, and an award-winning producer of frozen Salmon products that bring the best of Atlantic Canada to homes around the world. Cedar Bay Grilling Company’s Cedar Planked Atlantic Salmon products are easy to prepare, yet have a “gourmet” appeal, suitable for all lifestyles and tastes. We prepare and enjoy salmon regularly, and while I am no stranger to the kitchen, I really appreciated how quick and easy it was to prepare Cedar Bay’s Planked Salmon. The result was a fish that tasted as good as, or better than, salmon dishes I’ve had at upscale restaurants.

At present, Cedar Bay Grilling Company offers Sugar & Spice and Applewood with Orange Ginger Salmon Fillets. Simply thaw and cook the salmon in 20 minutes or less. You can find Cedar Bay Grilling Company’s Cedar Planked Salmon here in California at your local Ralph’s grocery store.

Cedar Bay Grilling Company Recipe Challenge

Thanks to Cedar Bay Grilling Company, I decided to pair their Sugar and Spice Cedar Planked Salmon with an easy Grilled Vegetable Couscous recipe. This side dish is easy to prepare and incredibly versatile. I chose some of my favorite vegetables to grill and place in this side dish, but you could easily swap out your own favorites to complete this dish.

Grilled Vegetable Skewers
Grilled Vegetable Couscous

To complete my meal, I sliced and grilled my favorite vegetables on a skewer. My kids are adventurous eaters, but initially they were not 100% on board with this meal given all of the vegetables. However, once they tried Cedar Bay Grilling Company’s salmon and my Grilled Vegetable Couscous, they were asking for seconds and thirds!
