When I think about the food at a theme park, I envision hamburgers and hot dogs, rather than chicken and tofu skewers or a healthy Greek salad. The beauty of visiting the Disneyland Resort is that you can experience both…in the same day if you desire.
Last month, Paradise Garden Grill debuted at Disney California Adventure Park. At just under $15, the quick-serve venue with outdoor seating offers delicious Mediterranean fare including a variety of skewers and kabobs, rice pilaf, cucumber salad, grilled pita bread, and gourmet sauces including Moroccan chili tomato and tandoori-spiced yogurt.
Guests can customize their order using their “build your own plate” concept. I like the variety of meat and vegetarian options and the sauces are flavorful…a nice compliment to the main dish. My favorite? It’s a tie between the Tandoori-Spiced Yogurt and the TzaTziki.
The kid’s menu is most impressive and includes a grilled chicken skewer or beef kabob, rice, seasonal fruit, and choice of drink.
Dessert includes freshly baked Baklava.
As I mentioned above, the venue offers plenty of outdoor seating, including shaded areas. Despite the fact that it truly is a quick, casual eatery, the food is not reflective of this.
Remember my review of Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta? For every great restaurant there is a story…check out the Disney Parks Blog for more information on the family that originated the restaurants at Disney California Adventure.
