Despite the fact that we try not to eat out, towards the end of the week neither my husband nor I want to cook. One of our favorite lunchtime venues is Souplantation. There are not many restaurants that offer all-you-can eat soup, salad, pastas, baked potatoes, breads, and desserts for under $10.
Souplantation recently launched their new catering and boxed lunch services at select restaurant locations. For $9.95, you can get a boxed lunch that includes a freshly-prepared Salad Sandwich Wrap on a whole-grain tortilla (Very Vegetarian, Curried Chicken, Tantalizing Tuna, Classic Chicken Caesar Salad and Wonton Chicken Happiness Salad), a bag of Original Sun Chips, and one of their famous chocolate chip cookies. I was offered the opportunity to preview them, however, they were not available in my area. So…Souplantation catered a lunch for some of us OC gals.
Catered lunches are $9-10 a person and include the following:
$9/person
Caesar Salad Asiago
Chicken Wonton Salad
Two Cold Pasta Salads
Baked Potatoes with Toppings
Assorted Muffins
Chocolate Chip Cookies
$9.50/person
The above plus Hot Soup OR Hot Pasta
$10/person
The above plus Hot Soup AND Hot Pasta
Each of the above prices includes iced tea, lemonade, plates, napkins, utensils, cups, and set-up. The price is phenomenal and the amount of food they allocate for each person is more than enough for leftovers. A representative from your local Souplantation will come to your location and set the entire meal up. The cold foods were cold and the hot foods were hot (something that’s important when food is being catered). Everything was fresh and the food tasted as good (if not better) than that at the restaurant because it’s made that day for your event. I’m seriously considering catering my daughter’s 1st Birthday through Souplantation because it includes EVERYTHING and I don’t have to do ANYTHING! You may even consider catering for meetings, luncheons, picnics, showers, housewarming parties and holiday parties. And as an FYI, Souplantation can also cater your breakfast.
Our meal included following:
Caesar Salad
Strawberry Fields with Caramelized Walnut Salad
Joan’s Broccoli Madness
Wild Rice and Chicken
Chicken Noodle Soup
Roasted Garlic & Asiago Alfredo
The hit amongst the group was Joan’s Broccoli Madness salad with my personal favorite being the Strawberry Fields with Caramelized Walnut Salad. Overall, all of the guests in attendance were impressed with the taste, presentation, and amount of food. The meal served 15 people and each family took home leftovers.

No compensation was received for this post. Profuse thanks to Souplantation who catered a meal for a group of friends.
