I have a bucket list filled with dreams of places I want to go and things I want to see and do. That list is my inspiration for everything from my hobbies and passions to our greater travel adventures like swimming with turtles off the coast of Maui. Music has always been a passion of mine, and even as a young girl, you’d often find me lip syncing to my favorite Christian artist. One of my life aspirations has been to visit Hillsong Church in Australia. The church is renowned around the world, particularly for it’s inspirational worship music.
I could barely contain my excitement when I learned that Hillsong would be coming to LA this Winter for a special concert during the first annual Kost 103.5’s ChristmasLand, presented by Galpin Ford. This pop-up themed area will take place at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles December 7th-11th, 2014 and will feature a Santa experience, a skating rink, a snow park, human snow globe photo opportunities, a dining village, a Ferris wheel and live entertainment on the ChristmasLand Main Stage, including Dickens’ Carolers who will roam the festival with a brass quintet. Additionally, there will be two live concert events on the evening of December 10th and 11th.
Hillsong will headline the event on Wednesday, December 10th and will perform some of their most well-loved songs including “Shout To the Lord,” “Mighty To Save,” “The Stand,” “Hosanna,” and “Oceans.” Taya Smith (lead vocalist on “Oceans”) and Reuben Morgan (Head of music at Hillsong London) will lead the concert and will be joined by Dove Award Artist of the Year Kari Jobe and MSC lead singer Mariah McManus from Mosaic Church in Los Angeles. Grammy Award winning Gospel Singer Tasha Cobbs will also open the concert and perform with the Faithful Central Choir and singers Brian and Jenn Johnson from Bethel Church will appear for a special performance.
Celtic Woman will close out the 5-night winter spectacular with a special Home For Christmas concert which will include timeless Christmas songs accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. Celtic Woman is an all-female Irish ensemble with phenomenal vocals. I personally can’t wait to hear their renditions of classics like Silent Night, I’ll Be Home For Christmas and Joy to the World.
