I find myself googling baby products more and more these days (I can’t imagine why). To be honest, we have a lot of the necessities (car seat, co-sleeper, etc.) from when my son was born. And I’m not above putting our little girl in a blue swing or a green onesie (those things just aren’t that important to me). But in the two years since my son was born, things have changed. For example, the only BPA-free bottles on the market at that time were made by Born Free and Medela. These days, I don’t think you’ll find a bottle with BPA in it. And the number of companies that have developed bottles for all kinds of situations has increased (i.e. Adiri).
Last week I attended a posh baby show in Los Angeles called Plan A Baby. I have to admit that some of the trendiest products and designers were showcased at the event…and I was eying a TON of them! And I was given the opportunity to try out some products from some of the companies featured at the event, so look for those reviews coming soon! Here are some pictures from some of my favorites (the lighting wasn’t the best so some of the pictures came out a bit darker than I would have liked):
Aden + Anais: I purchased some Muslin Wraps for my son when he was born 2 years ago because I knew he liked to be swaddled, but he was born late June in southern California (which equates to sweltering!). I always worry just a bit about swaddling babies (particularly when they start to get mobile) but those first few weeks it’s a lifesaver for calming and soothing babies. What’s great about these wraps is that they’re large (so babies can’t unwrap them or get out of them) and the fabric is light and breathable. The company recently introduced their Muslin Sleeping Bags which are great for babies who no longer want or need to be swaddled. They’re made from the same cotton muslin as the Wraps. Also just released are their Burpy Bibs which double as a bip and burp cloth in one.
oeuf: It means egg in French and the company is truly a front runner when it comes to modern baby design. I like them because they’re also eco-friendly. The company offers furniture, baby gear, clothing, and more.
Bonpoint: Speaking of the French, they have an eye for style and fashion. I have yet to see a line of children-swear so adorably posh. If you can believe it, the company has been around for over 30 years! This is a high end line…one that I’d probably only be able to consider for special occasions (as opposed to outfitting my children’s entire wardrobe).
Prince Lionheart: This family-owned business offers unique and innovative baby products including feeding, safety, travel, play, and nursery gear. The COOLEST bathtub I’ve ever seen is made by this company. It’s a washPOD that actually allows a baby to sit upright while bathing (I’m reviewing this so stay tuned!). The other product I was fascinated with was their squishy Silicone Bottles. They’re free from BPA, phthalates, lead, PVC, and Latex…now….will our little girl take to them? Stay tuned!
Cloud B: Every parent wants their baby, toddler, or child to sleep (through the night would be even better!). My son still wakes up most nights, ending up in our bed. Because he had such a difficult time sleeping as a baby, I bought him a few Sleep Sheep Friends from Cloud B (designed to help your child sleep at night via lights and sounds). The company has expanded their line to include wraps, sleeping bags, burp cloths and more. Stay tuned for my review of Dozy Dolphin On The Go.
Sprout Baby Food: Two years ago I was one of the first in my circle of friends to “go green.” Organic baby food, chlorine-free diapers, BPA-Free bottles, Paraben/Phthalate free bath and body products… Friends and family thought I was crazy (seriously!). And it was a struggle to find products that fit the bill. It’s been almost 2 1/2 years and the number of companies offering moms like me choices is phenomenal. Chef Tyler Florence co-founded this organic line of gourmet baby food! Only the best for my little girl. Stay tuned for my review.
Your Baby Can Read: I met Dr. Titzer (who developed this program) a few months ago in Orange County at another event. After having him demonstrate a bit of the program with my son and learning how negatively television affects babies and toddlers, I was convinced I wanted to try this out with my son and our soon-to-be born little girl. Stay tuned for my review. I’ll let you know if my baby really can read! (For some reason I didn’t get a picture of their display!)
Tasty Baby: Speaking of gourmet baby food, my son LOVED this frozen organic line. New out are their Organic Fruit Snacks (which my son wants to eat every day) and their Organic Infant Cereals (which we’ll try with our baby girl). And their baby food is as fresh as if I made it myself (except they do a much better job!). Stay tuned for my review!
Think Baby: Parents can rest assured that all of the company’s products are free from BPA, PVC, Lead, Phthalates, and other toxic chemicals. I personally like the look of their Complete Feeding Set!
