Even before I was off my pain medication post tummy tuck, I found myself wanting to do more than my body was capable of. I have always been active, but my lack of physical endurance trumped my will, and resuming my exercise regime was a very slow process. I have never been one to give up, and my persistence and desire to regain my previous level of activity eventually resulted in noticeable results. And with those results came a new confidence. I no longer wanted to hide behind baggy t-shirts and workout pants. As part of my wardrobe purge, I traded in those baggy running pants for a pair of prAna yoga pants.

prAna Activewear and New Fit
They say that having a tummy tuck can be life-changing, and I can attest to that fact. I no longer find myself planning my wardrobe around that part of my body that I hid for so long. I don’t find myself exhausted from “sucking it in” for unending hours during the day. And while I admittedly need to do some shopping because most of my clothes don’t fit me anymore, this is not a bad problem to have.
As part of my new “look,” I found that my workout wardrobe was in need of a serious update. One of my favorite active wear brands just launched their stylish, yoga pants and I am loving the way they fit my new body. For years, I shied away from styles that hugged my figure and had a heightened awareness when it came to see-through fabrics.
The new prAna yoga pants were designed and tested by active women to ensure that they are comfortable, versatile, stylish, and durable. A really good pair of yoga pants is an investment which is why I love that they can be worn for early morning Zumba class, running errands, and picking my kids up from school. The design of these pants makes them versatile enough to pair with a racer back sports bra for workouts or an organic cotton sweater for errands and casual meetings.
I chose prAna’s Pillar Pant because of its fashionable, functional fit. The straight leg, fitted pants are figure-flattering and the hidden key pocket in the waistband is clever. The Pillar Pant is available in Charcoal Heather and Black. prAna also offers short, tall, and regular lengths.
I hid my abdomen for so long that I stopped looking at sports bras and two-piece swimsuits for years after my kids were born. When prAna reached out to showcase some of their new activewear styles, I decided to pick out a sports bra for my Spring workouts. The Isaline Bra is available in 4 prints and features a flattering racerback style. The interior shelf bra provides support and the recycled polyester blend fabrics help keep you dry during workouts. I could easily put one of prAna’s sweaters on top of this bra and continue my day’s routine in comfort and style.
About prAna
prAna was started in Carlsbad by husband/wife team Beaver and Pam Theodosakis. They aspired to create a line of stylish, sustainably-made clothing. In those early days, the couple sewed, labeled (with tags they had made from recycled paper), and shipped their orders in fruit boxes from local grocery stores. Their mission remains the same…to inspire healthy, active, free-spirited living. Their clothing should reflect one’s individual style and be versatile enough to wear every day during every activity.
