A Starry Night Out With Doc McStuffins *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 43 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Nicole L. Congrats!

No compensation was received for this post.  Review/Giveaway items provided by Disney.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my daughter’s favorite show is Doc McStuffins, which airs each morning on Disney Junior.  The show, which premiered last year, follows the stories of Doc, a six-year-old girl who fixes stuffed animals and broken toys outside in her backyard playhouse clinic.  As with any show, the themes and messages presented must be positive and align with what we are aspiring to teach our children. Doc and her friends teach children the importance of taking care of themselves and others through healthy habits.  I also like how the show helps alleviate some of the apprehension children may feel about going to the doctor.

Doc McStuffins: Time For Your Check Up

Last week, Doc McStuffins: Time For Your Check Up debuted on DVD.  This compilation features five episodes and includes a growth chart.  Apart from the positive messages conveyed throughout the show, we love the songs and stories featured in the short episodes. Doc is an adorable role model for preschoolers as she aspires to grow up to be a doctor like her mother.  Pretend play is prominent amongst preschoolers which is another reason why the show is so compelling for this audience. I can’t tell you how many times my daughter has asked to play “doctor” with me as she checks my heart, my blood pressure, and my ears!

 Doc McStuffins

In one of the episodes featured on this DVD, titled Starry, Starry Night, Doc helps Henry’s Telescope Aurora when she complains about blurry vision.

We bought the little medical bag for my daughter because of the song in Doc Mcstuffins, to check her eyes, ears, etc. She is a positive role model for little kids, very compassionate and the characters aren’t the generic styles you see in shows

What I like about Doc Mcstuffins is that she helps and takes care of her toys and that is not the typical character you see on most every show.

We actually watched the episode calles starry starry night when they were having the picnic outside and the telescope was blurry because his lens popped off, it was really cute. I don’t know why my son loves the show because he can’t tell me yet since he is only one but my guess is the characters, their voices and the songs. I love that my son enjoys it and I enjoy the compassion Doc has for her toys. Very clever show!
