This is part of a compensated campaign with Little Remedies.
My sweet tooth is no secret, given the number of sweets and treats posted on this site and my social media channels. But at some point, I started having dessert or something sweet with every single meal. Sometimes it was a scone for breakfast or a sugary coffee drink…a cookie with lunch…ice cream with dinner. I wondered why I couldn’t shed those last 10 pounds of baby weight. Finally, about a month ago I decided to kick my sugar habit. While it seems extreme (and eventually I’m aiming for moderation rather than complete elimination), I had to do this because I wasn’t happy with the amount of sugar I was consuming.
In less than one month, we’ll be starting off 2014 with a series of resolutions. For some it may be weight loss…others may simply want to eat healthier. In our household, we’re saying yes to less sugar in our diet. We were inspired by Little Remedies Say Yes to Less campaign, which encourages families to pledge to do things that will better their lives such as reducing distractions and negativity in their lives. Along with replacing sugary drinks with water and milk, we’re eating healthier snacks like fresh fruits and vegetables and skipping dessert after dinner (unless it is a very special occasion).
In partnership with Make-A-Wish, Little Remedies will make a $1 donation for each of the first 100,000 people to take the “Say Yes to Less” pledge. Once you make the pledge, come back daily to check in and report back on your commitment. If you check in regularly, you’ll be rewarded with badges on your pledge page and coupons for Little Remedies products. One grand prize winner will also receive a $5,000 college education account.
Created by a father and pharmacist, Little Remedies was developed to provide families with natural remedies and medicines free from artificial flavors, colors, alcohol, saccharin or dyes. I was surprised to learn that children’s medications often contain sugar. Since options for our children are limited because of their age, it’s nice to have alternatives like Little Remedies For Colds Honey Elixir. My daughter had a cough during Thanksgiving Break and this helped her sleep at night.
So what will you say less to this season? I encourage you to visit Say Yes To Less to make your pledge!
