I’ve sat down numerous times in the past several days, struggling to write posts that need to get written. Yes, I’ve managed to get posts up…but I’m seriously struggling with the need to talk about stuff when people in Haiti are suffering so tremendously. The photographs, videos, and knowledge of how people live in that part of the world, disturbs me. I know it’s so much worse than what can even be communicated to us by way of media.
The pastor who married us almost five years ago has a passion for the people of Haiti and makes regular trips to the area. In fact, as we speak, he’s in Haiti. I can’t imagine him being anywhere else at this time.
I’ve seen the pictures…heard the stories…read the accounts…watched the news…
If I could realistically do something meaningful (like use my nursing skills to help the sick and injured), I would. But right now, with a new baby and a toddler, it’s impossible. And that’s a hard realization I came to a few days ago. But I can do something. I can pray. I can donate.
My heart aches for the people of Haiti who have survived this disaster. The suffering they have endured is far from over.
If you’re looking for a way to help, please consider donating to help the people of Haiti. They are in desperate need of water, food, and medical supplies.

They are in my prayers. I know 82nd AB landed today. So medical and security is there now. Granted, right now it is basic medical. But it is better of what was there before. Makes me sad, the reports I was hearing this morning about situations that happened last night.
