Way to Grow: Plant a Seed, Make a Difference With Lands’ End

Posted by Caryn Bailey 1 Comment

Earth Day is rapidly approaching, and I have a series of themed posts to increase awareness about eco-minded topics.  Lands’ End, a company I’ve been working with for almost two years, recently announced their Way to Grow: Plant a Seed, Make a Difference initiative.  This year marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.  This initiative connects kids, parents, and schools through gardening and teaches that even small steps can make a difference to our environment.

Now through May 14th, you can visit The Hub to enter your school to win funds to support a school gardening project or science initiative.  During this initiative, Lands’ End will include a packet of 100-percent organic Russian Mammoth Sunflower seeds from Seeds of Change with online orders of Lands’ End Kids merchandise.

To celebrate the launch of this campaign, Lands’ End will host a Twitter Party with Seeds of Change to highlight gardening tips.  There will also be 20 giveaways including organic seed collections, gardening totes, gardening books and Lands’ End gift cards.  Here are the details:

Date: Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Time: 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CST

Location: Online #landsend

Be sure to follow:  @LEprMichele, @LEprMolly, @LEprLibby, @LandsEndChat, @SeedsofChange

For more information on this initiative, just visit The Hub.

I did not receive compensation for this post.

which end do you put down to plant a seed? I am planting acorns from a large oak tree..do I put the pointy end down or the flat end down?? does this apply to all seeds??
Do I germinate in the dark or the light?
