Like most parents, I’m passionate about my children’s education. Before we purchased our home, my husband and I spent time researching the area’s school districts to ensure our son would receive the best education, should we be required to put him in a public school. A child’s education prepares him for all aspects of life. Budget cuts from a hard-hit economy mean that school supplies are lacking and programs have been cut.
Bing has committed to helping teachers and students by providing them with supplies and financial support through a program called “Our School Needs.” Last month, students and teachers in elementary, middle, and high schools across the country submitted a request for their school’s need via photo, essay or video. Now it’s time to vote!
Now through November 7th, you can vote for your favorite school from the 15 finalists selected. The school with the most votes (announced on the 9th of November) will win $100,000 and 3 others will win $50,000. Bing is also giving away up to $900,000 to schools in need through Donors Choose, a non-profit website where public school teachers can post classroom projects requiring funding. If you’re one of the first 30,000 to vote each day, you’ll receive a $3 donation code to redeem for the project of your choice.
Before you vote, be sure to spend some time reviewing the entries. From new lab equipment to a new library, the needs of these school are great. Thanks to Bing, some of these dreams will become a reality.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Bing and received a gift card and DonorsChoose.org giving code to thank me for taking the time to participate.
