Summer hasn’t officially started yet, but we’re already planning for a season of travel, adventure, and relaxation. Lazy days by the pool, building sand castles at the beach, sliding and swinging at our local park, and making memories at Disneyland are just some of our favorite summer activities. Because we live in Southern California, we enjoy well over 300 days of sunshine, making sun protection imperative. Sunscreen has become part of my daily skin care regime, and my husband always teases me that I am never without my sunglasses. And on those days when I can’t wear my contact lenses or I choose not to, I know that my eyes are still protected from the sun’s harmful rays when I’m wearing my Transitions lenses.
A few months ago, the way I see the world changed…literally. After wearing the same pair of prescription glasses for one too many years, I am finally wearing a frame that compliments my face, fitted with lenses I can actually see out of. I used to avoid wearing my glasses for many reasons, one of which was the fact that I simply felt like I could see better with my contact lenses. My new adaptive lenses from Transitions help me see the world clearly…both day and at night.
One of my biggest complaints about wearing glasses is the lack of sun protection. I’ve never even thought seriously about clip-on sunglasses, so in general, I have always depended on my contact lenses + sunglasses to protect my eyes from the sun’s harsh rays. But what about those days when I simply can’t wear my contact lenses due to allergies, fatigue, or illness? Those are the times when I must have a pair of glasses that offer vision comparable to my contact lenses. With my Transitions lenses, I am afforded clear vision regardless of the time of day and amount of life, indoors and outside. As I mentioned in previous posts, the lenses automatically adjust to varied light conditions and block 100% of UVA and UVB rays, thus eliminating the need for sunglasses.
This summer, Transitions Optical is helping families establish proper eye care habits so that they can enjoy a lifetime of healthy vision through their nationwide Sightseeing City Tour. Through the campaign, Transitions will provide education, activities, and free vision screening in partnership with a local optical partner in select cities across the country. Here are the upcoming dates for the tour:
Seattle, WA June 15 – 17
Chicago, IL July 11 -15
New Orleans, LA September 20 – 22
While you’re on the site, you can enter to win the Ultimate Sightseeing Dream Vacation in the Galapagos Islands plus a DSLR camera or one of five vacations plus weekly prizes that include gift cards and more.
This is part of a sponsored campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Transitions Optical. I was provided with a complimentary eye exam and pair of eyeglasses to test for the purpose of this campaign. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
