My kids have been attending live stage shows since they were old enough to sit for a period of time. I wanted them to develop a love for the arts at an early age, and as such, they have seen everything from The Wizard of Oz and Disney’s Newsies to a live symphony orchestra performing music from Harry Potter. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts is the premier destination for the arts, and their upcoming family show, The Secret Life of Suitcases, is certain to delight and enchant families of all ages.
The Secret Life of Suitcases
Co-produced by Allie Cohen Puppet Maker and the Unicorn Theatre in London, this puppet show follows the story of Larry as his world gets turned upside down by a flying suitcase. As an office worker, everything in Larry’s life is in place, and he prefers it that way. He likes to sort and tidy up and put everything in order. One day, a suitcase mysteriously appears at his door, inviting him to go on an adventure. Filled with wit and whimsy, audiences are invited to join Larry as he discover the thrill of adventure and the joy of coming home.
The Secret Life of Suitcases will perform at the Samueli Theater on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00 pm and Sunday, October 29 at 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at SCFTA.org, in person at the Box Office (600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, CA), or via phone (714.556.2787). If you plan to attend the grand opening celebrations for the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza, events begin at 11 am.
