The Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Park Railroad

Last year, we took our son to Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch for the first time.  Having been to local pumpkin patches, I had no idea that this is, in fact, one of the biggest (and the best) pumpkin patches in Orange County.  I recently told you all about the Pumpkin Patch but here is a quick recap:

The Pumpkin Patch runs through October 31st, seven days a week (as long as the weather permits).  You can visit on weekdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and weekends from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Entrance to the Pumpkin Patch is free, however some of the activities require tickets which are $4.00 each. You can save $15 if you buy a book of 15 tickets (which I recommend).

Activities include picking your own pumpkin, train rides, hay rides, John Deere Tractor Racers, carnival games, panning for gold, a haunted house and so much more!

If you plan to check out the Pumpkin Patch, be sure to allot enough time to visit the Orange County Zoo (with over 100 animals), take bike ride around the park, and/or a paddle boat on the lake.

It should be noted that Irvine Park charges a small parking fee ($3.00 on weekdays, $5.00 on weekends, and $7.00 on holidays). This Saturday (October 16th), there may be some parking delays due to the Orange County Cross Country Invitational.  The park suggests that you arrive after 1:00 pm when the meet will be over if plan to visit the Pumpkin Patch or Wheel Fun Rentals.

  3. My son and I are excited about the zoo tickets. He is two and loves animals!! If we won, we would share our tickets with our friends so they could come and play at the pumpkin patch with us. It would be great!

  10. Love Irvine Park!The train is the absolute favourite, after the pony ride.Unfortunately,we haven’t had a chance to visit the Pumpkin Patch yet, but can not wait to go there!Thanks for the chance!

  18. We love riding the train at Irvine Park RR and go to the OC Zoo for childrens story time when we get the chance during the week. Irvine Regional Park is such a great place to relax as a family together.

  21. My family loves to go to Irvine Park Railroad to ride the train, but during the Pumpkin Patch, it has to be picking out the pumpkin! My sons LOVES being able to pick his own and this place is the best!

  26. We’re going to Irvine Park this Sat., 10/23 with a group of friends.
    My kiddo’s & myself are really looking forward to the hay ride & of course taking pictures surrounded by lots of pumpkins.

  27. I’m excited for the the train rides all three of my kids would have so much fun they love going on the train. The pumpking patch would also be something I would look forward to.

  31. My 3 lil ones enjoy the whole park all together! Although we have never been there around Halloween time, the Pumpkin Patch would be a great treat for them! Hope I win : )!!
