Over the past 8 years, I’ve developed an incredible passion for creating healthy, delicious, gourmet-inspired meals that look and taste indulgent…dishes that you can feel good about eating because they’re made with real ingredients. Even as a child, I enjoyed baking with my mother, and the satisfaction I feel from exploring my creativity in the kitchen has only grown with time and experience. I started this site to tell stories about our life, and in the process, I’ve learned about myself and awakened interests I might never have explored. While in no way a food blog, I’ve found that many of the stories I tell have food as their focus.
One of the very first food bloggers that inspired me was The Pioneer Woman. Her stunning photography and intricate step-by-step cooking process awakened a desire to refine my skills in the kitchen. For many self-proclaimed foodies, food is an experience to be relished. The connection that evolves over a meal can bond families and ignite love. It is perhaps Ree Drummond’s weaving of storytelling and food that has in part, led to her success.
Earlier this Summer, I had an opportunity to preview The Pioneer Woman’s brand new housewares collection, available now exclusively at Walmart. The collection is a mix of whimsy, nostalgia, and country living and is absolutely stunning. Some of the product categories include cookware, dinnerware, drinkware, bakeware, serveware, and kitchen tools. Drummond was involved with the design of every single piece to ensure it’s aesthetic and practicality line up with her personal style.
I was honestly surprised at how elegant, durable and affordable her line is. Many of the pieces are versatile enough to be used for both casual and more refined dining experiences. The overall color scheme and design is chic with a bit of fun flair. And while the line exudes the type of quality you’d find at a high-end department store, they’re incredibly functional.
