Who knew that a mini-series covering some of the most famous biblical stories known to man would become the #1 series of 2013. The Bible, which debuted last month on The History Channel, attracted the largest cable television audience to date and is now available on DVD. Have you seen it?
The Bible
Conceived by husband/wife team Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, the five part series tells the stories of The Bible (both from the Old and New Testaments) through live action and computer-generated imagery.  Some of the stories you’ll likely recognize include Noah’s Ark, the Exodus, and the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus.  The couple’s hope is that people across the globe “will continue to be touched by the message of the Bible and cherish its stories at home with their families for years to come.”
As I mentioned last week, the epic mini-series is now on Blu-ray and DVD.  The 4-DVD set, courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment & Motive Entertainment has a run time of 440 minutes and features powerful performances, exotic locales and dazzling visual effects that breathe spectacular life into the dramatic tales of faith and courage from Genesis through Revelation.

To accompany the series, Word Entertainment & Motive Entertainment released The Bible Series CD which features 12 songs inspired by the mini-series, including Francesca Battistelli’s new recording of the Peter Gabriel hit, “In Your Eyes.”

And for those looking to delve deeper into the film, the New York Times bestselling novel A Story of God and All of Us was released, which was based on the miniseries.

  1. Our family watched every single Sunday night. We loved it! My favorite part was The Last Supper! It was such a beautiful scene! We think it will make for a great yearly pre Easter tradition in our home! Hope we win! Thanks for this contest RM!

  15. We LOVED this whole series! We constantly talk about it in our family. We would love to win this so we can make it our yearly family tradition leading up to Easter! The Last Supper was our absolute favorite part!! Thanks RM! :o)
