Just one week ago, I was in Miami networking with some of the most influential men and women in the Latino Digital Space during Hispanicize 2015. We traveled from across the globe to have an open discussion about our presence in this space and I walked away inspired and honored to have a voice that is being heard. As a Latina woman, it might not seem like such a feat that I was the first person in my family to attend and graduate college. It was not without hard work, persistence and the support of my family that I have been emboldened along the way to pursue my education and a career in nursing, and then to further achieve the dream of being a small business owner.
As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I invite you to join me on Tuesday, March 31st for a powerful, inspirational twitter chat with Nely Galán (founder of The Adelante Movement), The Coca-Cola Company, and DiMe Media. This month we celebrated with activities that highlighted the importance and power of Latina entrepreneurs. Specifically, The Adelante Movement connected and inspired Latina women directly throughout the month via conferences and an online community with the goal of empowering them financially and entrepreneurially. I absolutely love the mission of this movement which encourages Latinas to play a leading role in American society, economics and politics so that our children are given the future they deserve as citizens of this country.
As the month closes, I want to encourage you to continue the conversation and a great way to do that is through the #LatinaPower Twitter Party. We will share tips on how women and Latinas can pursue their passions and dreams, discuss action steps to achieving business success and learn networking strategies that can help build your business and community. Our journey to success isn’t limited to one day or even a month…it is a commitment we must make daily!
