Suave’s Stylin’ New Line *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 161 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Emma H. Congrats!

Despite what it may look like to most, I have thick, curly hair.  I thank the inventor of flat irons and moroccan oil for my sleek and smooth, yet artificially straightened hair.  I used to spend a lot of money on hair care products in hopes of smoothing the curls and taming the frizz.  But I discovered that some over-the-counter brands are effective at taming my locks.

Suave recently launched their new Professionals Styling Line which includes the following: Captivating Curls Whipped Cream Mousse, Dry Shampoo, and Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray. The only product I’ve been using consistently is the Mousse.  If I had the time, I’d straighten my hair regularly because I truly prefer that look.  But as a busy, working mom I am happy if I get in a long enough shower to deep condition my hair.  Most days, I let my curly hair dry naturally.  Suave’s new mousse helps define and hold my curls without making them feel crunchy or sticky.  The smoothing aspect of the product helps control, but not eliminate, the frizz.  For around $3.00, the Mousse is a great buy.

Because I have to wash my hair at least every other day, I’ve never really used a dry shampoo.  While some women find their hair looks best on the second day after a wash, mine looks worse.  Suave’s new Dry Shampoo is designed to refresh hair and absorb oil between washes.  It features mineral clay and helps to revive hair by adding volume and texture.  There is a mild fragrance designed to ensure your hair smells as good as it looks.  I’d be very curious to know if any of you have tried a dry shampoo?

In all honesty, I don’t like hairspray.  I prefer hair au natural…hair that’s soft and falls naturally.  I understand that people use hairspray for many different reasons including keeping a style in place or taming fly-away strands.  Suave’s new Hairspray is designed to achieve a brushable, weightless hold with a touchable finish.  It’s inherent humidity defense complex smoothes away frizz and flyaways.

When I was initially introduced to the brand, I was surprised at how effective the products are, particularly because my hair is not the most manageable.   Suave’s newly designed  and reformulated styling products are under $3.00 and  available at retailers nationwide.

Win It! One of you will win a set of Suave’s new Styling line.  Just leave a comment with the product you need most and why.  Comments will close on March 18th, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST.

I’d like to try the dry shampoo…I’ve never tried any before either. It would be perfect for those days when I wake up late and need to quickly clean my hair but don’t have time for a shower.

Oh the dry shampoo for sure! I have super oily hair and I’ve been trying really hard to train it to be able to be washed every other day, but it’s so hard!
