Despite what it may look like to most, I have thick, curly hair. I thank the inventor of flat irons and moroccan oil for my sleek and smooth, yet artificially straightened hair. I used to spend a lot of money on hair care products in hopes of smoothing the curls and taming the frizz. But I discovered that some over-the-counter brands are effective at taming my locks.

The only product I’ve been using consistently is the Mousse. If I had the time, I’d straighten my hair regularly because I truly prefer that look. But as a busy, working mom I am happy if I get in a long enough shower to deep condition my hair. Most days, I let my curly hair dry naturally. Suave’s new mousse helps define and hold my curls without making them feel crunchy or sticky. The smoothing aspect of the product helps control, but not eliminate, the frizz. For around $3.00, the Mousse is a great buy.
Because I have to wash my hair at least every other day, I’ve never really used a dry shampoo. While some women find their hair looks best on the second day after a wash, mine looks worse. Suave’s new Dry Shampoo is designed to refresh hair and absorb oil between washes. It features mineral clay and helps to revive hair by adding volume and texture. I need heat styling products. I curl/straighten/blow dry my hair every day and the I would love to try the Sauve products to see if they can keep my hair soft and manageable even with all of the heat styling that I use.
