Thirty years ago I learned to walk with Stride Rite shoes that looked very similar to these:
It’s been thirty years and Stride Rite still represents a brand that I can trust. I didn’t think twice about the brand of shoes I would buy when my son first started walking. When that time arrived, we headed straight to Stride Rite. They’ve been designing and manufacturing children’s footwear for over eighty-five years based on research.
In 2000, Stride Rite introduced the Natural Motion System which was based on findings that showed babies benefit from walking barefoot but still require a level of protection on their growing feet. The Natural Motion System encourages and enhances a baby’s natural stride path, while providing support which comes closest to being barefoot. Stride Rite has also developed two additional lines, Toddler Tech and Kid Tech, designed to address the needs of children in varying stages of physical development.
If that wasn’t enough, Stride Rite shoes are put through rigorous testing which involves five stages of fit testing on kids to ensure the perfect fit, 30-45 day kid testing to ensure that shoes wear better than expected, 30-40 lab tests (per shoe) to ensure that the material and components used in the shoe meet Stride Rite standards. No wonder they’ve been in business for over 85 years!
If you’ve ever been to a physical store, you know that your child will be measured by a Certified Fit Specialist who has gone through extensive child-specific fit training.
We were sent these adorable blue Jeffrey shoes to try out:
The shoes feature a leather and suede upper, hook-and-loop closure (it’s velcro which makes getting them on and off hassle-free), Natural Motion System technology, deep flex-grooves (to mimic the natural movement of the foot), and a natural leather lining for breathe ability. Not only are they stylish and simple enough for my son to take them on and off, they’re durable. I also appreciate the ankle support inherent in all of the Stride Rite shoes I’ve purchased for my son.
Stride Rite shoes are available for purchase on their website, in physical Stride Rite stores, and at select retailers, the most notable being Nordstrom.
