One of the most compelling reasons we moved into the community we live in is how well-ranked the school district is. Numerous resources site Orange County as having one of the best school districts, in the US scoring high in Math and Verbal SAT scores and possessing low dropout and crime rates. In order for schools in our area and in California to continue to provide academic excellence, they require funding…funding that is not always guaranteed, given the state of our economy.
This fall, Smart & Final has teamed up with the California Milk Advisory Board to help schools out through their “Help Our Teachers, Help Our Kids” promotion. On participating First Street dairy products, you’ll find a Real California Milk seal which can be collected and submitted to your child’s teacher for an entry into a sweepstakes to win Scholastic books or a school supply gift card. For every 100 seals submitted, teachers will receive 25 books or a $25 school supply gift card.
Additionally, Smart & Final is hosting a separate sweepstakes at FirstStreetSupportsSoCalSchools.com. Simply tell Smart & Final why your Southern California school should win a cash prize and your school is entered. There will be 3 winners per month for a total of 9 and prizes include $500, $300, and $200 in cash.
This week, we picked up a few of the products that are included in this program, including First Street Reduced Fat Milk and First Street Salted Butter. Be sure to watch the October 12th circular for a coupon towards any First Street Milk.
Next month, I’ll be sharing another recipe I created, but for now, here is box we worked on as a family to help us collect our seals.

I can’t wait to see how many seals you collect! Seems like schools can always use more money 🙂
