The new year is always filled with anticipation at the coming films and 2015, in particular, is predicted to be the biggest in cinematic history. Sequels and superheroes will dominate the box office along with adventure, sci-fi and fantasy films. Literary-inspired works will also continue to garner popularity, particularly among young adults.
This Friday, February 6th, 2015, Universal Pictures will release Seventh Son, an action-adventure film based on Joseph Delaney’s children’s fantasy novel titled The Spook’s Apprentice. Starring Ben Barnes, Jeff Bridges, and Julianne Moore, the film details the story of John Gregory (Bridges), aka “The Spook,” who is the sole remaining warrior of a mystical order in search of the last Seventh Son (Barnes), prophesied to possess incredible powers. As he embarks on this courageous adventure, he will have to battle the dark queen (Moore) and the army of supernatural assassins she has dispatched against the kingdom.
