This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Jennifer A. Congrats!
It’s one of the first things I notice about a person…their smile. But what is behind that smile? For some it’s exicitement and anticipation…others smile out of uncertainty or timidity. A person’s smile is the physical depiction of the emotions they’re feeling on any given day.
As a child, my mother would talk to me about her lack of self-confidence during her teens and twenties, in part due to being self-conscious about her smile. She made it a priority for me to be seen by an orthodontist at a young age so that I could receive braces before my peers reached the teasing/bullying phase of adolescence, and for that I’m incredibly thankful. But beyond orthodontic care, my mother instilled lifelong healthy oral care habits within me. Together, we brushed twice daily and received bi-annual dental check-ups/cleanings. She also had the foresight to recognize the importance of diet and how that contributed to overall health, including oral health.
Because your smile is one of the first things a person notices, proper oral care habits are important. Fresh breath and pearly white teeth are something to be proud of…something to smile about. Interestingly enough, I recently read that self-confidence is affected by a variety of factors, one of which is a person’s oral health.
Last month, I shared some information about Steven López’s partnership with Procter & Gamble to highlight how a healthy smile helps with self-confidence during competition and in life. As I’ve blogged in the past, my oral care routine is simple, yet effective. Every day I brush morning and evening, floss, and rinse to ensure a fresh, clean, healthy smile. I also strive to eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and low in fat, sugar, and processed/artificial ingredients. Additionally, I see my dentist twice a year for cleanings and check-ups. This routine is one I model for my children to help them grow up with the sense of how important oral care is.
Crest’s Complete line of oral care products include Crest Complete Multi-Benefit Whitening + Deep Clean, Oral-B Complete SATINfloss, and Oral-B Complete Deep Clean Manual Toothbrush which work together to achieve clean your teeth with lasting results. I would say an incentive to floss is that the dentist cleaning won’t hurt as much.

of course so many people have said floss and of course brush regularly as well. I like to keep a travel sized toothbrush handy with a small tube of toothpaste in my office desk for those times I am at the office and we have lunch there… keeps my breath clean and my smile bright
