Of all the superheroes that have come and gone, it’s Superman who’s story I’m most familiar with. I spent many afternoons and evenings watching the films (and the subsequent spin-off TV shows) with my father, and for both of us, he was THE superhero…our superhero. It’s been 6 years since audiences have seen Superman on the big screen, but in just 10 days the Man of Steel will return in a brand new film.
With a phenomenal cast (Amy Adams, Henry Cavill , Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne, and Russell Crowe) and a compelling revival of the original story, Man of Steel will reintroduce audiences to one of our favorite superheroes.
The story follows Clark Kent, an alien who was adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent as a child. Part of Kent’s journey includes finding his own place in life, given the fact that his super powers often alienate him. When the world is attacked, he becomes Superman, fighting to protect the Earth and it’s people.
Man of Steel debuts in theaters on June 14th, 2013. If you’re like most superhero fans, seeing a film like this is exciting and much anticipated, particularly given the long stent between films. Walmart will offer exclusive screenings of Man of Steel on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 7 pm. This is the only way audiences can see the movie before it opens the following day. During one of my recent trips to Walmart, I noticed a ton of new Man of Steel items, in celebration of the film’s opening. Because my son loves superheros, I decided to pick up a lunchbox, a film-inspired book, a cape (because what little boy doesn’t need one?), and a PJ set.
From tees and capes to LEGOS and action figures, Walmart is the place to go to purchase Man of Steel merchandise. And remember that you must go to your local Walmart store to purchase advanced screening tickets to Man of Steel.
