Post Your Best Cool Whip Recipe *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 10 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Noreen. Congrats!

Since we’re in the season of baking and I’ve shared a ton of baking and decorating ideas with you, I’d like to get a little inspiration from you! Now I like to adorn my pumpkin pie with Cool Whip…but have you ever used it as an ingredient in a recipe?

Check out this recipe I found on the site that I’m determined to make:

Mocha Layer Cake

1 pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
4 eggs
1 container (8 oz.) BREAKSTONE’S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup MAXWELL HOUSE INTERNATIONAL CAFÉ Suisse Mocha Café, divided
1/2 cup plus 1 Tbsp. water, divided
1 pkg. (8 squares) BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, divided
2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. light corn syrup

BEAT cake mix, dry pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, oil and 1/2 cup each flavored instant coffee and water in large bowl with mixer on low speed just until moistened, stopping frequently to scrape bottom and side of bowl. Beat on medium speed 2 min. or until well blended. Chop 4 chocolate squares; stir into batter. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round pans.
BAKE 40 to 45 min. or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 min. Remove from pans to wire racks; cool completely.
STIR remaining 1/4 cup flavored instant coffee into COOL WHIP. Stack cake layers on plate, spreading COOL WHIP mixture between layers. Microwave butter, corn syrup and remaining chocolate and water in medium microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 min.; stir until chocolate is completely melted. Spread over top of cake, allowing glaze to drip down side.

What is your favorite, original Cool Whip recipe?  If you tweet a picture of it and use the hashtag #coolwhipislove you’ll be entered to win a $25 Visa gift card and a one-year subscription to Food & Family Magazine, right here on Rockin’ Mama. This giveaway is a little different than my typical giveaways so be sure to read the legal deets!

  • You may enter as many times as you want, using different recipes and pictures.
  • Each Tweet and picture must have the hashtag #coolwhipislove.
  • Be sure to @ reply me (@rockinmama)
  • “My Fave Cool Whip Recipe @rockinmamal  #coolwhipislove (and then the link to the photo)”
  • Contest ends on December 31st, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST.

Kraft Foods is providing the prize for this program at no cost to me. This program is not administered or sponsored by Kraft Foods or its affiliates, but solely Rockin’ Mama.

I like to take 2 slices of pound cake, and put in the middle, a layer of blueberries, a layer of cool whip, and then a layer of sliced strawberries.
