“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
I absolutely love this quote from Mark Twain. It is why my husband and I lived, worked, and backpacked Europe for almost 1 year. It is why we took two very small children all the way to Pennsylvania and Orlando, enduring 5+ hour flights. It is why we camped and hiked in the high Sierras of California. And it is why we will travel with our kids, without our kids, with family, and alone as a couple.
This month, the four of us will take a mini vacation to San Luis Obispo and later in the month, the hubby and I will head back to one of our favorite cities in the country…New York City! Both of us have a passion for travel…to see the world…to experience the beauty of all that He has created…to open our hearts and our minds to people who may may eat different foods, wear different clothes or speak different languages…but who are unique and important and matter.
Do you know what I don’t like about traveling? It’s the getting there…the packing…the preparing. It’s waking up at 3 am to drive to LAX (which I’ve JUST done)…it’s the long security lines (which of course, I appreciate completely to keep us safe)…it’s the four to five hour plane rides that are required to see a show on Broadway or watch my children wide-eyed in amazement at the giraffes in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. It’s the packing! (did I already say that?) : )
We’re going on a series of travel adventures, and thanks to Briggs & Riley, we’re going to get to choose a piece of luggage from their brand new BRX line. Neither of us have purchased luggage in over 10 years, so the shopping alone should be exciting. Briggs & Riley offer “innovative, high-quality luggage” designed to be durable and affordable. They stand behind their products completely and offer a Simple as that lifetime performance guarantee that even covers damage cause by airlines. I haven’t completely read through that guarantee, but as the weeks go by, I’ll be sharing more information about it.
The BRX line is “a high-performance travel gear collection, made with quality materials and advanced engineering.” At present, their are 10 pieces in the collection, ranging in size, style, and color. From the website, the line looks to be modern, versatile, and durable. This week, I’ll be sharing more about where to find the line and the piece we eventually decided upon.
