Yesterday, we headed out to the Fillmore & Western Railway Co. for Day Out With Thomas. For 15 years, Thomas has made his way into railroad stations across the country. The tour, which began in March, runs through November in select cities. Some of the highlights include storytelling, live music, building with Mega Bloks, a 25 minute ride with Thomas, and pictures with Sir Topham Hatt. Each day out is a bit different and children may experience everything from petting zoos and magic shows to bounce houses and face painting.
There were several stations set up which offer children the opportunity to play with trains and blocks, color pictures, and enjoy a story. We received a “map” when we first checked in and made sure to visit each station to get it stamped. At the end, my son received a cute little Day Out With Thomas mini-view finder that tells the story of Thomas’ upcoming adventure, Misty Island Rescue. One of the surprising highlights from the event was an appearance by Thor’s Reptile Family. I don’t think I’ve seen a frog this big!
Did you know that turtles eat bananas?
This year, Thomas will visit over 45 cities in the United States and Canada. For more detailed information about the event, just see my previous post and visit their website.
I did not receive compensation for this post. We received tickets to the event, courtesy of the company.
