I could sit and talk for hours to someone I’ve just met…
He prefers to get to know someone slowly over time…
I like to jam my schedule packed…
He prefers to lounge around by the pool on his day off…
I tend be high strung and lively…
He’s relaxed and laid back about life…
I’m mostly logical and practical…
He’s artistic and creative…
Despite our differences, it’s our similarities that brought us together almost 8 years ago. Our love of theater and travel…of ethnic food and the outdoors.
It’s easy to become focused on those things that you think separate you…that make you different. Marriage is a lifelong journey of effort, persistence, and grace towards unity. So we’re giving and taking with the other’s differences…celebrating our similarities.
P.S. I think it’s time we took a new photo! : )

Your post just made my evening (or day)…as I was moping around because my hubby isn’t a planner, and I am…and we are only a few weeks away from our anniversary and he is ‘just’ making plans. Thank you for the reminder that it’s OK to be different.
Hi Ana…Aw..thank you! It’s coming from a place I have been in for awhile, struggling to “right” our differences rather than accept them. I have been realizing that no 2 people are alike even if they’re married. Marriage truly is a lifetime of working at becoming one….
You two make a really cute couple! 🙂
Hi Tiffany…Thank you. That was before children : )
Is that your wedding photo? You look gorgeous.
Hi Stephanie! Aw….thank you…..that was on a cruise… : ) I should post a pic of our wedding day… : )
What a beautiful tribute to your marriage. And yes, I agree with you. No two people are alike. And marriage is definitely work! Lots of it!!
