Even as a young girl, I was drawn to live stage shows. By the time I was able to drive, I had discovered musical theater and sought out opportunities to catch national touring productions of Broadway musicals. Right after college, my best friend introduced me to the world of Cirque, and it changed my perspective (and expectations) for live shows. When Odysseo by Cavalia premiered in LA 3 years ago, I found myself immersed in an experience unlike any other.
Making its Orange County debut on February 3rd, 2016, Odysseo by Cavalia celebrates the relationship between horse and man. Imagined by Cirque du Soleil co-founder Normand Latourelle, the show takes audiences on a breathtaking journey to nature wonders such as the Mongolian steppes, Monument Valley, the African savannah, the Nordic glaciers, the Sahara, Easter Island and a lunar landscape. In this enchanted world, human and horse live in harmony.
The show is a beautiful mix of equestrian and theatrical arts and features 65 horses and 48 riders, acrobats, aerialists, dancers and live musicians. Theatrical effects include a state-of-the-art video screen, a 3-story mountain, and a real lake filled with 40,000 gallons of recycled water which appears magically during the finale.
Performing under the White Big Top at the junction of the I-405 and the SR-133, Odysseo by Cavalia is a show not to be missed. Afternoon and evening performances are available February 3rd through February 28th, 2016. Tickets are now on sale and prices begin at just $29.50. If you’re looking for an exquisite experience, the Rendez-Vous package includes premium seats, buffet-dining before the show, an open bar, desserts during intermission and an exclusive visit of the stables after the show. Prices begin at $149.50 and can be purchased online or by calling 1.866.999.8111. For more information visit Cavalia.net.
