4 Important Life Lessons from Kung Fu Panda’s Po + Legends of Awesomeness *Giveaway*

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Debra H. Congrats!

No compensation was received for this post. As a Fox Home Entertainment Insider, I receive products for review/giveaway.

Five years ago, audiences were introduced to Po, a giant Panda who aspires to Kung Fu greatness.  When Kung Fu Panda premiered in 2008, it was  named the highest grossing animated film of the year worldwide. The success of this lovable Panda has resulted in a sequel which surpassed the original at the box office and a television series which airs on Nickelodeon.

Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness

Earlier this week, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment released Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness: Good Croc, Bad Croc on DVD.  The animated TV series is based on the original film and follows Po as the chosen Dragon Warrior and sworn protector of the Valley of Peace.  Together with the Furious Five (Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Crane, and Viper), Po must ward off villains, including an evil version of himself and the Croc Bandits.  The latest DVD features more than two hours of adventures  and a unique code to continue Po’s adventures via the new online game titled Croc Crackdown.

As a parent, I am conscious about the media my children are engaged with.  It’s important that their viewing and gaming experiences include an educational component, that the characters serve as positive role models, and that the overall content is positive. In honor of this latest release, Po offers children 4 Important Life Lessons:

Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness

Work Together

Po and Tigress are very different creatures, but when they are attacked by Croc Bandits in the episode titled Chain Reaction, they put their differences aside and learn to work together.

 Don’t Be Boastful!

Po’s aspiration towards Kung Fu greatness sometimes means his ego gets the best of him. In the episode titled Po Fans Out, he releases a supernatural creature so he can defeat it and look good in front of others.  Unfortunately, by trying to be boastful, Po puts himself and others in danger.

Listen to Your Elders

When Po’s curiosity gets the best of him and he fails to listen to his elder Master Shifu, a bad version of himself is created in the episode titled Bad Po.

Stand Up For Your Friends

Po’s commitment to protecting Princess Mei Li marks the beginning of their friendship and he eventually defends and saves her in the episode titled The Princess and the Po.

I have not seen any of the movies…so I don’t have a favorite movie. Looks like a fun movie for the family to watch together.
    Thank you!
