This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Debbie J. Congrats!
Except…I failed to tell him who I was! Fortunately the PR company who set up the Skype chat informed him of who he was talking to. It’s not every day I get the opportunity to speak with a celebrity! If you or your children are Animal Planet fans, they you may know that Jeff Corwin is a Wildlife Biologist who has “been working for the conservation of endangered species and ecosystems around the world since he was a teenager.” He is the Emmy Award-winning host of The Jeff Corwin Experience, has written numerous books (for kids and adults), travels all over the world, and still finds time to lecture on wildlife, ecology and conservation to audiences across the country. He has also established an interactive museum and environmental education center called the EcoZone, located in Norwell, Massachusetts. It was fascinating to speak with this man who has such a passion for animals.
Jeff Corwin and Animal Planet have partnered with Lunchables to give children who are passionate about animals, an opportunity to get an up close look at the animal kingdom. Kids and their parents can enter the Lunch, Roar & Score Sweepstakes (which is going on now through May 3, 2010), for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Boston. Ten winners and their families will spend three days with Jeff Corwin, learning about their favorite animals. They’ll get a behind-the-scenes tour of the New England Aquarium and Franklin Park Zoo as well as an exclusive welcome dinner with Jeff. Just log onto the site and answer an animal-themed triva question.

My girlfriend will flip over this! She’s obsessed with all things Animal Planet. (She’s in school to be a vet.) I knew most of the stuff but I was unaware that this 5-DVD set even existed so even I don’t win, I’m sure I’ll have to get it for her!
I’m also a follower via Google Reader.
I learned that a lot of the series is about the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned animals.

I never thought about fostering learning about animals in my back yard. I always think we have to go to the zoo (although I love the zoo, and will continue to take my kids there). I can also use the natural habitat in my back yard as a classroom.
This would be awesome to win for my oldest, who is always so fascinated with animals!
I subscribe to the rockin’ mama via e-mail!
I wish I had cable to be able to watch Animal Planet with my daughter- she adores the short videos we watch on the Animal Planet website, especially about dogs. She is a huge animal fan!
Love the topic how orphaned animals from around the world are rescued, rehabilitated and, whenever possible, returned to their natural habitats. My little boy loves animals and would be wonderful to teach him about people who dedicate their lives to save them

I would LOVE this. One thing I miss about not having cable is that we can’t get educational shows like the ones on Animal Planet. I would love for my daughter to be able to watch these DVDs and learn about how animals grow and live in different climates and areas of the world!

What a great interview! You’re such a professional! I’m always hesitant on doing interview posts because I’m afraid I’ll sound like a nerd. LOL!
I like that he involves his family with his work.
My daughter would love learning about all of the animals and he is really great at keeping kids attention!

I liked how he talked about all people (especially kids) being natural scientists. I think kids do learn best through play and exploration and discovery, it’s just to bad that kids can’t play outside like we used to as kids. You can’t leave them unsupervised for a second anymore! Is that good or bad? Anyway, these DVDs would be a great learning experience for my kids.

I love Animal Planet. Animals are so fascinating.
I would like my grandsons to see this. We love wildlife getting to spend our summers in a remote area of WY. They on the other hand are in the city and I personally think so much is missed for them in some respects. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.

I found it interesting that Jeff considers the most scary moments were those with humans, not with wild animals. You’d think he’s have his fair share of frightening situations with wild animals!
