It’s a Broom….It’s a Mop…It’s Swiffer!

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winners are Julie and Dixie (with her tweet).  Congratulations!

The month is half way over and I hope that I’ve inspired you to get some cleaning done around your house!  One of the things that I seem to go back to are the floors.  Since half of our house includes either tile or laminate flooring, I find it really difficult to keep up with cleaning them.  Before I mop or steam clean, I vacuum or sweep the floors.  It’s easier for me to vacuum the living room because we have laminate flooring and our Dyson DC17 upright vacuum glides perfectly over the floors.  Unfortunately, our kitchen and dining room are tiled and thus very difficult to vacuum over.  I end up sweeping and then either mopping or steam cleaning when I want to eliminate all of the bacteria on my floors.  And then there is the problem of our little dog Niko who comes to visit every now and then. He is a lovable, huggable Maltese mix with white, fluffy hair that ends up all over my couch, clothing, and floors.

pdt_pak_sweeperHave you ever walked by a product in a store, thought to yourself that it looks interesting and you may have to try it someday, but were afraid of what the results would be?  That has been my experience with Swiffer Sweeper.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked by it at Target or Walmart and thought to myself, “I really need to try that.”  Here is a little more information about Swiffer Sweeper from the site:

Swiffer Sweeper is a unique two-in-one system designed for a complete clean. Trap and lock dirt with Dry Cloths, then mop and scrub surfaces to a shine with Swiffer Sweeper Wet Cloths. Our new Wet Cloths use a new thick texture to trap and lock away dirt and grime, and removes tough spots, from dried-on foods to scuffs, with a scrubbing strip.

When I first found out that I could sweep and mop with the Swiffer Sweeper, I was already sold.  As a mom, I am always looking for products to make my life easier…products that will get the job done in half the time, at half the cost without compromising on the results. Sweeping up dust and pet hair is actually easy with the Swiffer Sweeper.  I don’t like sweeping with a broom for 2 reasons.  First, I feel like I’m just pushing dirt around.  Second, the dirt that I do manage to sweep into a neat little pile has to be shoveled into a pan and I never get it all in there.  It just takes time and it’s somewhat of a pain.  The dry cloths don’t push the dirt around.  They actually pick it up.  The dry cloths “use electrostatic action and dirt-grabbing texture to trap and lock away 50% more dirt, dust, and pet hair.”  Two of the most difficult places to get to are the corners underneath the cabinets and under the refrigerator.  Thanks to the fact that the Swiffer Sweeper has a 360 degree swivel-head, I can get those hard-to-reach places.  Once you’re done “sweeping” I switched to the wet cloth to remove juice and milk spills and muddy paw prints from Niko.  What’s also great about the Swiffer Sweeper is that you can use the wet cloths on other surfaces like electronics.  They come premoistened with a cleaning solution designed to dissolve dirt, trap, and lock it in the deep ridges of the cloth.  The wet cloth also has a strip specifically designed to remove sticky, dried-on dirt, grime, and scuff marks.

You can use the Swiffer Sweeper on a vast number of floors (visit the site for specific information on the type of floor you have at home).  At only $10.99, this is an economical, effective solution for cleaning your floors.

Head on over to the site to download a coupon for $2.00 off and for more cleaning tips.

Win It! Two of you will win a Swiffer Sweeper Starter Kit.  Simply head on over to the site and take a look around.  Come back and leave me a comment with another product you’d like to try and the type of floor you would use the Swiffer Sweeper on.  Comments will close on April 3, 2009 at 10 PM PST.  One comment per person, please. US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

Another product I could use in the house are the Swiffer Dusters with Extendable Handles. The fan in the living room is really high up & I can’t reach it. The extendable handle could definitely help me out. I would use the Swiffer Broom on my hardwood floors in my house. It would do a great job picking up the animal hair!
