I am the girl that has never paid interests fee for purchases I’ve made on our credit card. Ever. While I use my credit card for everything from a latte to a laptop, I never make a purchase unless I know that I can pay it off when the bill comes.
While I prefer to shop year-round for the holidays, snagging deals on gift ideas as I find them, I still manage to spend much more than I normally would in the time leading up to Christmas. This season, Walmart is offering consumers special financing for 6 months on every purchase, every day in November and December of 2011, both online and in stores when a Walmart Credit Card is used.
What this means is that you can take up to 6 months to pay off your purchases without incurring finance charges, as long as you make the minimum monthly payments and pay off your purchases before the end of the 6 month promotion period. Be sure to read all of the details so that you know what to expect. You can download the certificate you’ll need to print and bring in to the store here.
This is a wonderful way to make Christmas special without worrying about how you’re going to pay it all off in January, as long as you have the funds to pay it off within the 6 month time period. I am a huge proponent of not having credit card debt, however, I think that Walmart’s Zero Financing offer is incredibly gracious, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
