5,000.
That is the approximate number of diapers a child will go through during the first 2 1/2 years of his or her life. While the number may seem outrageous, it might be an underestimate, depending on your child and the type of diapers used. With a number that astronomical, it makes sense to choose a diaper that is comfortable and leak-proof.
Huggies recently introduced their new Snug & Dry Diapers, which feature an improved Leak Lock system to pull moisture in and lock it away, so your child remains dry. These diapers are unique in that they feature a SnugFit waistband and unique Grip Tabs for a secure fit. Additionally, these diapers have built-in stopping guards around the legs to ensure that moisture stays in.
I have a very active 2 year old and because she is at a stage where she can remove her diapers, a snug but comfortable fit is important, lest she remove that diaper at an inopportune time. Because we don’t wake her to change her diaper at night, this is the time where we really put these diapers to the test. In the few weeks since we started using these diapers, she hasn’t leaked through them at all.
Because we’re in the midst of potty training and my daughter is very cognizant of what she is wearing, I actually have difficulty getting her to wear diapers at night, even though we’ve yet to begin nighttime training. My daughter is a huge fan of Disney characters, particularly the infamous mice, and at two, she is very vocal about what she will and won’t wear. One of the reasons she agreed to wear these particular diapers was the fact that they have Mickey and Minnie printed on them.
In addition to introducing a new and improved diaper, Huggies has improved their Natural Care Wipes which are hypoallergenic, free from fragrance and alcohol, and include Aloe and Vitamin E. Huggies has ensured that their wipes are softer and made with minimal ingredients for a gentle clean. Both of my children have sensitive skin and have always been susceptible to rashes. These wipes are gentle enough to use on their hands and face and neither have experienced any irritation or sensitivity.
Last month, I shared some highlights of a conversation we had with Mexican TV personality Poncho de Anda and his wife, who have partnered with Huggies to offer parents advice on wading through the sometimes messy challenges that come along with parenting. This Thursday, September 20th, Poncho de Anda will be available for a LIVE bilingual chat on the Huggies Latino Facebook page. During this discussion, he will share his thoughts and experience raising young children in a bilingual home, how he’s maintained their Latino cultural connections while living in the United States, and share family stories including how he copes with diaper changing. Anyone can join the chat, which will occur from 12-1 pm EST.
What are your biggest diapering challenges?
