I still remember that day when I walked waddled into the church auditorium at 34 weeks, greeted by my closest friends and family. That day meant more to me than anyone will ever truly understand. Rewind to 17 weeks when I was placed on bedrest for a threatened miscarriage. Six weeks after that time, I began experiencing preterm contractions. It wasn’t until 34 weeks, that my strict bedrest instructions were lifted, mostly so I could attend my baby shower. I knew that if I could make it that far, I could make it just a few more weeks. It was a very special day because I knew that my son…my sweet almost 4 year old boy would be born a few weeks later.
Have you heard? Pampers is embarking on an amazing, year-long Miracle Missions campaign. The campaign (which you can find on their Facebook page) encourages people to help one another in fun, unexpected ways. Mission 1 (which I recently told you about) is complete. If you recall, the mission was to make Mother’s Day special for a new or expectant mom. Some offered up their seat, sent flowers, wrote a note, or gave gifts. Now Pampers is continuing this celebration by throwing 1,000 baby showers for expectant moms across the country with the help of Points of Light Institute.
Do you know an expectant mother who should be celebrated? At the end of this post, I’ll share how one of you will get the chance to throw a special mom-to-be in your life a baby shower.
Now that Mission 1 is complete, it’s time to embark on Mission 2. Father’s Day is just around the corner, and this is the perfect time to share how you can celebrate a new dad in your life. If Pampers gets 4,000 commitments to help give dads time to bond with their babies, they will throw special Father’s Day cook-outs for dads and babies across the country. Every person who commits to running errands, covering late meetings at work, helping out with chores at home or other random acts of kindness to help dad get some bonding time in, will be entered to win free diapers and wipes for a year.
What will you do to give dads that critical bonding time with their children? My husband gets regular bonding time with our children but I am committing to doing more of the cooking so he can come home from work and tickle, read, or snuggle with our children.

Well I would love to throw another “baby shower” for the local pregnancy center. My moms group set up a playpen in the back of the church and ask people to donate baby goods. Our moms group made blankets. I would like to do it again and buy even more for the babies.

I would love to throw a baby shower for my neighbor, or for my brothers girlfriend. Both are pregnant.
For once I don’t know anyone expecting but I do have an idea for what I would do! I would use the gift card to purchase baby items that I would then drop off at our local Baptist Association along with a request that the items be delivered to an expecting or new Mom in Joplin, MO who lost everything during the recent tornado. well I know a ldy having a boy- we would take her husbands jersies to decorate and make it sports and also make it a grillout – and all are welcome- I would also take a bunch and get diapers and stuff and make a corner where people can bring things for the joplin victims- foodstamps do not cover diapers so that would herlp- people can bring food and things- anything to donate
I am expecting a second baby in August and would LOVE to throw myself a “Baby Blue” party.
We were thrilled to find out that we’ll be expanding our family but it was quite the surprise. After a lay-off and recent move, we’d already sold everything from my first pregnancy 3 years ago. Even the clothes we did keep are all girly & pink, which won’t be the same since we’re expecting a baby boy this time. lol.
If I’ve learned anything at all from our recent hardship, one needs the support of friends & family. I realize throwing my own party is a tad unconventional (aka special) but it would be wonderful to fill a room with nothing but BOY colored hope, happy women, wonderful expectation and great treats.

Both our families are tight on money, and chance are, she won’t get much of a shower…if she gets one at all 🙁 She doesn’t even want to register anywhere because she doesn’t want to get disappointed. I would throw my best friend a shower and I would make it special by personalizing all the decorations and food to fit the baby to be!
When you first heard from the dr that you may have a threatened miscarriage, it is the scariest thing in the world. If a miscarriage happens to you it is the most devastating thing a woman goes through. With mine last November it was so heartbreaking and I would pray every day that when the time was right God to give us a little miracle of our own.
With that said, I am expecting our miracle. I am completely scared and the thought of the worst is constantly in the back of my mind. But I am trying to be optimistic and trust God that he wont let that happen again.
I would give the gift card to my mother in law who is planning to already throw me a baby shower. I would love to give this to her and let her use it anyway she wants.
Babies are miracles and every single one should be celebrated!

I would choose to give this card to the Storks Nest- a local organization that helps expecting and new Moms- especially young Mothers. They provide education,but along with that they help with cribs, bottles, clothes and diapers, I wouldnt ‘know’ the Mom, but I would know it was being spent to get the most bang for the buck.

I would do the shower for a young couple I know in which I was the official at their wedding. They really want to start a family but are a little tight right now. I would make it special by inviting friends and family from their wedding that really want to help and support them and have people but the very basic necessities like diapers and soap, etc

I have a very dear friend that just found out she is pregnant with a GIRL after 5 boys!! I would love to throw her a shower. Since mom has craved cupcakes this pregnancy, I’d make it a little more special with some fancy pink cupcakes from a local cupcake shop that we frequent. {Without the kids, of course. I’d use the Pampers GC to throw a super baby shower for my youngest sister, who is due with their first baby this Dec. We’d try to make a memorable shower by adding personal touches to everything from the food to the decorations to the venue. Having the shower catered by my sister’s favorite caterer would be the first step and having decorations Martha Stewart would be proud of would be the next!

Id throw it for my cousin Laurette and make sure that I decorate the party so its Disney themed, since she’s always loved that
I have a friend of mine who’s pregnant and a single mom like me, I’d throw her a baby shower. To make it memorable…hmmm well having a baby shower at all would be memorable for her, but I’d get one of those diaper cakes. I think they’re very memorable and super-cute!
I’m not sure of the theme, I’d have to do some recon to find out what her thoughts are on the room design. I know the bedding she registered for has a zoo animal theme so something along those lines, I think.
I know she’d be touched by the gesture and very appreciative of the baby shower and gifts!

I’d love to throw a great shower for my good friend Trish, who, after trying for a long time with her husband, is finally expecting her first daughter in December. we have a friend who is expecting but she has everything already. I would throw her a shower and ask guests to bring an unwrapped gift to donate in the family’s name to the local shelter and donate what is left of the gift card to the shelter as well.

I’d love to throw a shower for my sister’s second baby. Everyone made a big deal with the first baby but not the second. I dont want the baby to think she is less important. I would make it special by making sure her brother gets plenty of gifts as well.

I would throw the shower for my neighbor. It would be special because she is the grandmother-to-be. Her pregnant daughter is on the other side of the country and it’s KILLING her not to be there. I think she’d get a kick out of it, and I even know how to find out who to invite!

I would throw a shower for my best friend. It’s the first baby in our group of friends and we are all soooo excited. I would make it special I would make it a 2-for-1…each person brings one gift for my friend and one for a women’s shelter.
It would be for my son and daughter-in-law and I would get a really big diaper cake (to save money for them later) and a glass etched personalized invitation to save the date.

This would be for my best friend Kim. She is getting married next year and she is trying to save all she can for the wedding and is not really thinking about her baby shower.
