I just like the fact that Sesame Street has been around for such a long time, about 40 years I think. I remember watching it when I was little and I think it’s great that my kids can grow up with my favorite chilhood characters.

Whoa….I learned that Sesame Workshop is a whole lot more than a tv show! Specifically, that there are many initiatives like Talking Cents to raise financially wise children (so important!!) and another that aims to teach literacy skills in rural mississippi! I already knew that this was a great organization, but had no idea everything they did!

I like that they Instill “respect and healthy curiosity for other cultures.” My son LOVES Elmo. He constantly asks to watch Elmo, since sesame street has their videos online. Every time he sees Elmo at a store he gets so excited. I’ve been wanting to buy him an Elmo video (since we don’t own any, just watch clips online). This sounds like a good one to start with.

Seeing an opportunity to maximize children’s potential in this area, Sesame Workshop partnered with the University of North Carolina’s Center for International Understanding in 2007 to develop Around the World With Grover: Tools for Exploration.

I learned that SESAME STREET is turning forty years old. Darn. It’s too old to date George Clooney. But it sure is fun!

I learned that Elmo’s pet goldfish is named Dorothy. Since my kids are grown (but they used to watch Sesame Street 2x a day!), and I’m a grandmother of two who live out of state….I didn’t know this!

I liked reading about the Sesame Workshop and the USO Bring Sesame Street’s Muppets to Military Families. Having several family members in the military and living in a military community, this is very important to me.

I learned that they Have Sesame Street in many countries & they often teach different languages. They now have health & wellness episodes & teach moral & ethical lessons.
Sesame Street has always been a great fun educational show & it’s wonderful that they keep getting better.

FYI: I can’t wait to see Abby in Wonderland DVD!
