Whoa….I learned that Sesame Workshop is a whole lot more than a tv show! Specifically, that there are many initiatives like Talking Cents to raise financially wise children (so important!!) and another that aims to teach literacy skills in rural mississippi! I already knew that this was a great organization, but had no idea everything they did!

Every time he sees Elmo at a store he gets so excited. I’ve been wanting to buy him an Elmo video (since we don’t own any, just watch clips online). This sounds like a good one to start with.

I think it’s interesting that the Sesame Street broadcasts in other countries (Ireland, for one) have different characters/puppets than we see!

I love all of the core values that Sesame Street teaches and has taught throughout the years, such as Respect, Dealing with Illness, etc.
I loved learning Sesame has a DVD Here For You that helps children cope with serious illness. I think that is awesome! I have a friend who’s child has a brain tumor and I have had to spend time at the Children’s hospital here with my daughter. I think this is a great concept that Sesame street has. What a great idea to have characters that all kids love and know helping them in such a tough time for them and their families!
