This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by! The winner is Laura Mancini, congrats!
Winter is the season where we spend much of our time indoors (unless you live in Southern California and it’s still in the 70’s during the day). It’s difficult to continue to come up with new things to do with children and I like to limit the amount of TV time in our house. Because I grew up as an only child, my mom (in particular) played a lot of games with me. As our children get older, my husband and I plan to incorporate game nights on a regular basis. Games are a fun and interactive way to get family members talking.
Over the summer, I reviewed a few games from Around the Table Games. You can read my full review here. What I like about the games is that they’re portable (and make great stocking stuffers…hint hint!) which means you can play them at home, around the dinner table, and on the road. They also encourage discussion and interaction which is great for children, particularly as they get older.
Just released from Around the Table Games is a brand new app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I personally don’t own either device, however, I thought I’d share with you just a bit more information from the site (because it sounds interesting!):
Simply pick one of the 30 conversation questions, ask the question, and get a surprising and often hilarious glimpse into the hearts and minds of family and friends. Diverse topics reveal surprising answers.
Some of the features of this application include the ability to capture talk sessions to save as keepsakes to share with others and to start a conversation with anyone on your contact list. You can purchase the application for $0.99.
Win It! One of you will win two games of your choice from Around the Table Games. Simply leave me a comment with the two you’d pick if you won! Comments will close on December 5, 2009 at 10 PM PST. One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.

I would choose Family Talk and Family Talk 2. My children have a wide range of ages (almost 3, 10, 17, and 19). And it is hard to find games that are compatible with all ages. These are ages 3 and up, so this would work wonderfully for our family.
I would like the family talk and family talk 2.

With three kiddos ranging in ages from 10 1/2 to 3 we need some good conversation starters that can keep going and going. Dinner time can be the best part or most frustrating part of the day, this would make it the best! 🙂
