Last year, my son read his very first Harry Potter book, which opened up a brand new imaginative world for him. This fantasy book series by author J.K. Rowling follows the adventures of young wizard Harry Potter and his friends who are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. The series follows the story of Harry’s struggle against dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who’s aspirations to become immortal and overthrow the wizard governing body will have him Lord over all wizards and Muggles (those without magical abilities).

The Harry Potter Film Concert Series is Coming to Segerstrom Center

This Fall, Orange County locals and visitors will have a unique opportunity to be immersed in the world of Harry Potter in a new, imaginative, musical experience. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts just announced The Harry Potter Film Concert Series, which will feature the live symphony orchestra performing to picture every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Relive the magic of this film in high-definition on a 40-foot screen while listening to this remarkable orchestra perform John Williams’ score.

This year marks Harry Potter’s 11th birthday, and when Rubeus Hagrid said, “You’re a wizard, Harry,” it changed the life of this orphan forever. Music is often used to emphasize, create and define moments in a film, and this was one particular instance when Williams’ music played in the background, helping to shape and define Harry Potter.

This concert series is the first of many as CineConcerts and Warner Bros. Consumer Products expand The Harry Potter Film Concert Series. The tour will celebrate each of the eight films in subsequent years and will feature a live symphony orchestra and choir performing the beloved music of each Harry Potter film.
