Ok…so we have an iPod and we download music on iTunes…I want an iPhone and I’d love to upgrade my iPod to an iTouch. When I was a child, I had no idea what all of these techie gadgets were all about. In fact, I don’t even remember playing with anything that required more than just a few batteries. These days, children are extremely tech-savvy (probably more than I am!). And there is a need for companies to offer tech toys that replicate those they see their parents playing.
Hence, the introduction of Hasbro’s I-Turtle (apparently they also sell an I-Dog!). This little reptile plays music through a built-in speaker when you connect it to your portable music player (i.e. iPod). But we’ve had fun just watching him tap his foot along to music, bob his head, and raise his shell, complete with flashing lights! I like that you don’t have to plug it into the iPod. It’s designed for children over the age of 8, but my toddler gets a kick out of it! Here is a little more information about the I-Turtle from the site:
I-TURTLE communicates his moods through musical riffs, movement and tons of blinking light patterns on his shell! He even whines when he’s hungry for more music or attention! I-TURTLE loves to move and groove to your music, but watch out – flick its tail, and it won’t be happy! He may have a little shell, but he has a big sound!
The I-Turtle requires 3 AAA batteries (thankfully they’re included!). I like that the I-Turtle is lightweight and portable. The only thing I struggle a bit with is how to “turn him off” since there is no “on/off” switch. In fact, we’ve put him away and have heard him later making noises (it’s cute and funny though). It’s definitely something children will be entertained with!
The I-Turtle retails for $19.99 and is available at retailers nationwide.

I am looking at yours and wondering where the cute pink eyes and smile were. Then it dawned on me….. my girls painted theirs with nail polish and gave it a “face”.
Isn’t this cute???!!!!
