Dear Santa hubby Nintendo
This year, all this mama wants for Christmas is a Nintendo Wii.
You may be asking why a grown woman wants a gaming system. Well, BC (before children) I had all the time in the world to go to the gym or take nice long runs. Lately the only gym I’ve been going to is The Little Gym and the only running I’ve been doing is after my toddler. But I’ve resolved that 2009 is the year to lose this extra 5 10 13 pounds that have been weighing me down (literally). Oh I’ve tried Weight Watchers…with success too! But getting rid of the jiggle jelly belly is going to require more than mathematical point calculations. The only feasible way to get moving is to do it at home when my son goes to sleep. If I had a Wii Fit I could work out every night in the comfort of my own home. I’d even think about allowing hubby to get his game on!
I’ve always been a fan of the 3/2 rule (3 days of cardio, 2 days of strength training) so here is my personal Wii Fit Workout routine:
Monday: 45 minutes of Step Aerobics
Tuesday: 30 minutes of lower body workout (Single Leg Extensions, Lunges)
Wednesday: 30-45 minutes of walking/running (it’s the middle of the week so this will get me over the hump)
Thursday: 30 minutes of upper body workout (Torso Twists, Push-Ups, and Side Planks)
Friday: 30-45 minutes of Hula Hooping my way to the weekend
Saturday: Party Dance like it’s 1999 with Dance Dance Revolution
Sunday: Whew…time for a little rejuvenation with Downward Dog Tree Pose, Warrior, and Half Moon Yoga. Don’t forget to BREATHE!
So you see…all I really need is to win one of the Wii/Wii Fit packages that 3 of the most popular bloggers on the web are giving away. Head on over to Magpie Musing, Mothergoosemouse and, Los Angelista for your chance at this awesome system!
