I started dancing in elementary school when I auditioned for a part in the annual production of Let It Snow. Those few weeks learning ballet and tap dance inspired me to pursue dance passionately. Throughout high school and college, I found myself taking dance classes at community centers and studios throughout LA. I even took tango lessons! Learning various dance forms has made me a more confident, versatile dancer. And while the art form is athletic and requires endurance, it is also highly enjoyable.

Tango Buenos Aires – The Spirit of Argentina
Tango Buenos Aires has become one of the most authentic representations of Tango. This particular form of dance was created for the Jazmines festival at the famous Buenos Aires cabaret Michelangelo by the acclaimed composer and Tango director Osvaldo Requena. Their newest program, The Spirit of Argentina, debuts at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts for one weekend, November 18 and 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
From Argentina, The Spirit of Argentina is a soulful program of music and dance. The company includes dancers, vocalists, and musicians who pay homage to French-Argentine singer/songwriter/composure Carlos Gardel. Gardel composed and recorded hundreds of classic tangos, many written with his lyricist Alfredo Le Pera. Several of these compositions are featured in The Spirit of Argentina and are set to music by Astor Piazzolla and other tango icons.
