Fig, Arugula, and Parmesan Focaccia Recipe + $100 Giveaway

{Sponsored. All opinions are my own}

It happened overnight. One moment I’m struggling to get my kids to eat, and the next they’re hungry all. the. time. I have to keep a ready supply of healthy snacks on hand to curb their hunger in-between meals, especially now that we’re starting school and sports.

Made In Nature Snacks

The very first foods my kids ate were fruits and vegetables, so getting them to eat fresh, healthy foods isn’t difficult. My challenge is finding quick, on-the-go snacks that I can feel good about giving my kids. Recently, I’ve been giving my kids Made In Nature Supersnacks™. Available at Walmart for $3.98, these snacks are certified organic, Non GMO project-verified and contain real fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, spices, and grains. Sweetened naturally, these snacks are free from refined sugar and filled with healthy fats and the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients inherent in real foods.

Made In Nature Supersnacks

Because we are an active family, we tend to gravitate towards hearty snacks like trail mix. Unfortunately, store varieties are filled with refined sugar, unhealthy fats, and a list full of artificial ingredients I can’t pronounce. We’ve replaced our trail mix with Made In Nature Organic Fruit and Nut Fusions. I love the subtle spices infused into the mix. These blends offer the heartiness of a trail mix and taste absolutely delightful. Ideal for curbing hunger in-between meals, these fruit and nut fusions pack in protein, vitamins and minerals for growing minds and bodies.

Made In Nature’s line includes Toasted Coconut Chips and Fruit Fusions. The brand has also recently introduced Kale Chips, available at Walmart for $4.98.

My kids inhaled the bags of tart cherries and mangoes before I had a chance to try them so I know that these snacks are kid-approved. Healthy snacking is as easy as picking up a few bags of Made In Nature Supersnacks and including them in my kids’ lunches.

Parmesan Focaccia Ingredients

Fig, Arugula, and Parmesan Focaccia

In addition to eating these healthy snacks in-between meals, I’ve also been incorporating them into meals. I know that we are inconsistent about getting in enough fruits and vegetables, most often due to time constraints, so I’m always looking for ways to incorporate them. Last week, I made a Fig, Arugula and Parmesan Focaccia. This simple, easy dish is ideal for nights when cooking seems impossible.

Fig, Arugula and Parmesan Focaccia
Ingredients
  • Refrigerated pizza dough
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh arugula
  • Red onions chopped
  • Made in Nature Smyrna Figs halved
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Roll out pizza dough onto a floured cutting board. Remember that the thickness of your focaccia is dependent on how thin you roll the dough out.
  3. Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper
  4. Place rolled out dough onto baking sheet
  5. Brush olive oil onto dough
  6. Sprinkle parmesan cheese onto dough
  7. Layer onions and figs on top of cheese
  8. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted
  9. Remove from oven and top with fresh arugula
  10. Slice and serve immediately

Homemade Parmesan Focaccia

The difference between pizza and focaccia lies in the thickness of the dough. This allows it to absorb the olive oil which gives it a distinct flavor. Like pizza, you can customize your focaccia with the toppings you prefer. Serve this Fig, Arugula and Parmesan Focaccia as a snack, an appetizer or even a main dish!
