Every holiday gathering we’ve done since our daughter was born 3 months ago has been scaled down. With my husband’s hectic schedule and my responsibilities at home with the kids, we simply don’t have the time for elaborate holiday gatherings. This Sunday, we’ll attend church in the morning and then come home for a relaxing, low-key day at home with our 2 beautiful children. If we do cook, it will be something simple.
If you’re planning on a large family gathering, and you don’t want to spend time or effort baking, you may consider a pie from Claim Jumper Foods. You may remember that I reviewed several of their flavors over Christmas. My favorite, by far, was the Chocolate Silk. The company offers a large selection of pies, typical to that which you’d find at their restaurants.
I have to admit that on the whole, I’d much prefer to bake my own desserts as opposed to purchasing them already made. However, if I am entertaining a large group, I like the convenience of not doing much more than defrosting a pie. If you remember my Suave party, I actually served my guests a pie from Claim Jumper Foods. I didn’t tell my guests who made the pie until after they had tried it. Not only were they impressed with the appearance and the taste, they would have never guessed it was a frozen pie from Claim Jumper Foods.
Claim Jumper Foods offers pies that you simply thaw or bake in a variety of flavors, including Chocolate Satin, Lemon Meringue, and Coconut Cream. You can find them in the frozen section of your local grocer and they retail for approximately $6.49-$7.99.
